A Christmas Post
I got this little gem from my sis-in-law. And since it's finals week and I have other things to do I figured this was the perfect time to blog again. So here goes.
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
5. When do you put your decorations up?
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
I can't really remember, I have lots of little favorites. I did enjoy getting my bed. I still enjoy it today. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Stop making me try and pick favorite foods. I love it all!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
I love lots of things but one thing that comes to mind right now is Mom's little countdowns that she puts up in the house. It doesn't feel like Christmas without them.
17. What tops your tree?
Since we have an amazing tree in my l'il apartment this year we have a sweet Star to go with it. It's glittery goodness to the max.
18. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving?
Definitely giving. I love shopping for people. And at my house we love taunting. "I know something you don't know..."
19. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Hands down it is Last Christmas by Wham! It has seriously brought me so much joy. But if I had to pick another one it would be The Christmas Song. I'm very picky about who sings it though because I like it so much.
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
Yum Yum! But just the pepermint kind. I don't like the crazy flavored ones that they have. I like to just stick with the plain ol' red and white ones.
21. Favorite Holiday Movie?
Oh I have lots of favorites. The claymation Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, A Christmas Story, Elf... just to name a few.
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Totally Hot Chocolate. I think my roommates and I consume it by the gallons. My southern baptist roomie makes fun of us... "you guys are ridiculous with your hot chocolate consumption." hee hee
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree?Santa wraps. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it's no fun when you can just see what you are getting. Unwrapping is half the fun. The other half is watching my brother Jonathan throw his in the air and try and unwrap it before it hits the ground.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
I'm a big fan of the white look, but the colored lights make it feel more like christmas at home. The hodge-podge of mixed colors and crazy ornaments makes me feel all warm inside. p.s. warm is a funny word. no- seriously. say it lots of times.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
nope
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
nope
5. When do you put your decorations up?
Well if I had any decorations probably after Thanksgiving or Decemberish...
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
mmmmmm... I don't have a one favorite thing. I just like the whole christmas meal as a whole. Pretty much I just like food.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child:
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child:
When I pretended to be an elf named George (but I spelled it Gorge), and would write letters and draw pictures for Mom and Dad. I had my "secret" hideout under their bed. Mom would leave treats and stuff for the elf. But I always felt soooooooo guilty eating those treats because Mom had left them for Gorge not me and I was deceiving my own parents.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
hmmm Maybe 2nd grade from fellow schoolmates but then my teacher convinced me otherwise. Then I was unconvinced, then convinced. And then I think I got it out of Mom one time when she was falling asleep. muahahaha.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
No. Dad's a stickler about keeping the present opening to Christmas day. It always sounded like fun though. But it does help to keep the excitement for that day.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
Last Christmas Melissa and I made the ultimate tree. I can only describe it as pure awesomeness.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
I don't care about the snow except on Christmas. It MUST be a white christmas. I hate winters that snow tons in October and then christmas week start to warm up just enough so there is no snow and then snow like no other in January. Evil Utah weather!!
12. Can you ice skate?
12. Can you ice skate?
Yes. But I think the real question is, can I ice skate well? The answer to that is tricky. I might be a good ice skater if I could keep myself upright and my butt off the ice. But then again I don't really go often enough to say for sure.
I can't really remember, I have lots of little favorites. I did enjoy getting my bed. I still enjoy it today. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
The message, the feeling, and spending time with loved ones.

My favorite line:
Stop making me try and pick favorite foods.
Amen, sister.
Mom and I were just laughing about The Great Gorge Deception. Bwhahaha. I love the part where you felt guilty. Cause Mom was leaving treats for the Elf. heh.
Also, Last Christmas forever.
Finally,
I know something you don't know.

So you ARE alive after all then, eh? Nice work. I had a feeling something might come up during finals.
You should watch "Mr Kreugars Shroom Trip", I mean "Christmas".
James Stewart rips it up in his greatest role ever: A psyc-a-dellic janitor who directs the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, stokes a furnace, and hangs mittens on a Christmas tree.
Some of the greatest quotes:
-"You hung them on the Christmas Tree?"
-"What are you doing down there?"
-"I love you. That's what Christmas is all about. Clarissa said it to Mr Kreugar. Mr Kreugar said it to Jesus. And Jesus, in so many ways, says it to all of us."
A must see for all at any time of the year!
(Bonus Game! In the movie, look for the man who looks like the man who says, "I believe that jacket belongs to Mr Gilmore!" and when Mr Kreugar almost gets trampled by horses.... ah, I love Christmas!)
